Same Ground
Different roles. Shared service. Same ground.
Finding help shouldn't require knowing which agency, organization, benefit, or program to search for first.
Why it exists
The help exists.
Finding it is the problem. Directories go stale, numbers stop working, and the front door of almost every service asks you to identify yourself and explain your situation before it will tell you whether it can help at all. For someone at a bad hour, proving your story first is the point at which they stop.
A directory of support for people who have served (veterans, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, and law-enforcement personnel), and a place to talk to others who have. Listings are re-checked on a rotation rather than collected once and left to rot.
Who it is forVeterans, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, law enforcement, and the people helping someone from those communities.
What it solves
Access before verification
Support without proving your story first
Browse trusted resources and reach every crisis line with no legal name, no documents, and no location. Verification exists as a trust layer and it can wait, or never happen at all. The first screen says so, rather than burying it in a policy.
Start where you are
Help starts with what you need
The home screen asks what kind of support would help today (someone to talk to, company, or practical help) and answers with what is near you. Answering is optional, and it stays on your device unless you open a seat.
Re-checked, not collected once
Listings with a service area and a date
Resources are source-backed and private to browse, tagged by category and service area. Independent-organisation and Same Ground Recommended badges are shown for exactly what they are, and listings go back through re-validation on a rotation.
Community
A table for eight, and no explanation required
My Table is a small private circle of up to eight people who have agreed to show up for one another. Opening a seat asks for support without requiring a reason, and the person who opened it decides when it closes.
Crisis
A call your phone places, and the app does not log
Veterans Crisis Line, Crisis Text Line, COPLINE, Safe Call Now, and the 988 Lifeline: free, confidential, and open around the clock. The call goes through your phone's own dialler, and reaching out from this screen is never written to your activity.
Designed differently
-
Access is never gated by verification
Resources and crisis lines work with no account. Verification adds a badge; it does not unlock the directory.
-
Crisis actions bypass the activity log
A crisis call is placed by your phone's own dialler and is not recorded to your activity.
-
Verification is optional and removable
It can be attached and detached at any time, and it claims nothing about rank, agency, employment, or licensure.
-
No third-party requests
Same Ground's surfaces, this page included, load no external fonts, scripts, or images, and the deploy check fails if one ever appears.
Under the hood The technical surface, without the implementation

- Crisis actions routed to the system dialler, outside the activity log
- Geographically aware resource search by service area

- Zero third-party requests on every Same Ground surface
